Both athletes (whose Fran times are just over 3 minutes (Carl) and just over 4 minutes (Kara)) felt confident they'd go through the 21 thrusters and pull-ups unbroken, but they both got caught by surprise as the 15 thrusters and chest-to-bars were harder than they expected. The round of 9 was where strategies went out the window and they both just fought hard to finish strong.
