A daily routine is absolutely necessary to bring radical change in body, mind, and consciousness. Routine helps establish balance in one’s constitution. It also regularizes a person’s biological clock, aid digestion absorption, and assimilation, and generates self-esteem, discipline, peace, happiness, and longevity. ~ Dr. Vasant Lad Mentioned resources: Daily Routine: https://bit.ly/LalaDinacharya Women's Sleep Tonic: https://www.ayurvedawoman.com/collect... The practices below will help calm down the body-mind, so that you may experience restful sleep where the organs restore and proper hormones are released as we align ourselves to nature's cycles. As usual, I suggest starting with 1-2 practices and once established building on those. • Eat supper before the sun goes down. Digestive capacity follows the sun; with being most optimal from 10 AM -2 PM (pitta time) • Aim to go to bed at the same time daily 10 PM the latest. • 1 hour before bed, turn off digital devices that emit blue light such as tv, computers, cell phones, etc. Dim lights, and maybe read instead or do other non-stimulating activities like the dishes, putting things away, etc. • Enjoy a warm tonic using Women’s Sleep Tonic with warmed nut-milk, ½ tsp ghee or a simple calming herbal tea like chamomile, lemon balm, oatstraw, tulsi or a combination and a pinch of nutmeg. • Soak feet in a warm foot bath with Epsom salts and 2 drops lavender. Relax and sip on your evening tonic. Once feet are dry, massage a small amount of oil into the feet. • Support melatonin production. Melatonin, is a hormone released by the pineal gland in response to darkness and supports our alignment with circadian rhythms – natural waking-sleep cycles and is a powerful antioxidant. • Support Tryptophan production. Tryptophan is a precursor to melatonin. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that cannot be produced by the human body and must be obtained through your diet, primarily from animal or plant-based protein sources. • Meditative practice – helps lower cortisol and destress the body. Prayer, meditation, spiritual reading, gratitude, and journaling.
