Turn onto final in the canyon, doing shallow s-turns to avoid terrain. With 1900’ of runway, focus on a soft field landing more than short field. If a go-around is needed, do so normally, except turn left to follow the river by end of runway. The river turns back to the north fairly quickly, proving plenty of room for climb out. With a passenger and backpacking supplies, I’d try to not land with more than 30 gallons of fuel. Take off in the early morning to ensure best performance and winds.
