https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org Welcome to Cincinnati Children’s. Here at the hospital, we believe that the best way to care for children is to make the family part of the healthcare team. As part of your stay at Cincinnati Children’s, you will have an iPad assigned to your room that you can use for MyChart Bedside. The MyChart Bedside app is different than the MyChart app you may use at home, so make sure you log in and check it out. When the patient has been admitted, a passcode is required to access the iPad. This passcode will be separate than the pin to the MyChart Bedside app. To access your child’s information in MyChart Bedside, a team member will help you set it up and have you select a personalized pin. Let’s take a quick tour of the MyChart Bedside Homepage to show you some of the exciting features it offers. The Home screen orients the patient to their stay. From this screen, a patient can tap diagnoses and medications to see related education. The "Happening Soon" feature shows the patient's daily schedule. Patients can see events that have already occurred during their hospital stay and look ahead to upcoming events. You can even add your own events, such as when you will be out of your room for lunch. Patients can use the "Taking care of me" feature to become more familiar with current and previous members of their inpatient treatment team. Team members currently taking care of your child are shown in color. The "I would like feature" allows patients to place non-urgent requests. For example, a patient might make a request for graham crackers, clean hospital gown, or a blanket. Food trays can be ordered from the "Let's Eat" feature. Click the link on the menu to begin ordering from the At Your Request app. In the "A Few Questions" section, the patient or family can enter information for the admissions questions directly from the MyChart Bedside app on the iPad. The "signed forms" feature allows you to electronically sign consent forms. The "Notes" section can be used to type notes to yourself, such as adding a reminder to ask the doctor a question. You can also view notes shared by clinicians during your stay and record your own audio and video notes with consent from your care team. The "My Health" feature serves as a dashboard where patients can view up-to-date health information at a glance, such as recent vital signs and lab results. You can tap a lab result or vital sign to see more detailed information and trends over the course of your hospital admission. Patients can use the "To learn" feature to review assigned educational materials. Education will appear in the "To learn" feature with patient-friendly wording and material. The patient and family can document their understanding of each teaching point. In the "Messages" feature, patients and caregivers can send non-urgent clinical questions or messages to their care team and then receive responses back. Patients and caregivers can view information from a past admission in the "Other Visits" feature. Past admissions will appear in this section if the MyChart Bedside app was activated in a previous admission. If you have questions on how to use this app, click the question mark or ask your clinical team for help.
