Join me on one of the most dramatic and rewarding stretches of the West Highland Way, as I hike from Cashel Campsite to Beinglas Farm at Inverarnan—covering 20 miles in around 9 hours. I kick things off by leaving my bag at reception at Cashel, travelling light for the day ahead. The trail hugs the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, offering up some incredible scenery under fabulous blue skies. Passing the peaceful but basic Salochy campsite, I press on to Rowardennan, nestled beneath the imposing presence of Ben Lomond. The sun starts to turn up the heat, making for a challenging but beautiful walk. I pause at the Inversnaid Hotel for a well-earned bite and a breather before tackling what many say is the toughest section of the Way—the rugged and wild northern end of Loch Lomond. Just before reaching Doune Byre Bothy, I take a break for a refreshing dip (or “dook”) in the cool waters of the loch—an absolute highlight of the day! Recharged, I push on through the last few miles to Beinglas Farm Campsite. To round off the day, I pay a visit to the legendary—and slightly spooky—Drovers Inn for dinner and a pint, soaking in the atmosphere and reflecting on an unforgettable day's hike. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and join me on the next leg of this incredible journey through the Scottish Highlands! #WestHighlandWay
