Freshly filmed today, here's the usual time of year where 2 railtours take to the Marches, this time it's 1 steam and 1 diesel and both operated by WCRC. First tour was the Christmas Cheshireman seen at Penpergwm, with Black 5 44871 at the helm. 47812 was on the rear. Headcode was 1Z26 as far as Hereford, then changed to 1Z27 from Hereford onwards to Chester. That tour was supposed to stop at Abergavenny however it went straight through, and powering! It was running 11L at the time, however the pass-through made up time, and it arrived at Hereford 7L. Second tour was 1 hour and 45 minutes later, formed of double headed WCRC class 37's number 37669 & 37706 hauling the Chester Christmas Explorer under the headcode 1Z42 from Oxford Parkway to Chester, passing 1L at Abergavenny. The locos sounded incredible, powering towards the Llanfihangel bank; with excellent tones including an Ilkley Moor horn salute, thank you Driver!! Also this tour was Pathfinder Railtours' penultimate railtour before the company would stop operating in December due to retirement. The company had been operating on the railways for over 50 years!
