#turkmanGate #chandnimahal #centraldelhi #delhicrime Once again, relationships have been disgraced in Delhi. The incident took place on February 24 in the Turkman Gate area of Central Delhi, where a shocking stabbing inside a hospital premises left everyone stunned. The attack occurred at Sharda Medical Center, where a man allegedly orchestrated a deadly assault on his own brother-in-law. What is even more surprising is that the investigation revealed no solid reason behind the attack — the entire dispute stemmed merely from suspicion. According to the police, information about the stabbing was received on the afternoon of February 24. Wasim (31) had reached the hospital with his mother after learning that his wife had been admitted there by her sister. At the hospital, an argument broke out between Wasim and his in-laws. The dispute escalated quickly, prompting Wasim to call his brother Faheem (33) to the spot. Shortly afterward, Faheem arrived at the hospital on a scooter along with two of his friends, Salman (27) and Mohammad Ali (23). All three were armed with sharp knives. Inside the hospital premises, acting on Wasim’s instructions, they surrounded his brother-in-law and stabbed him in the abdomen. When the victim’s father and uncle tried to intervene and save him, the accused attacked them as well, leaving them injured. Panic spread throughout the hospital following the violent incident. Upon receiving the information, the Central District team of Delhi Police immediately swung into action. DCP Central Anant Mittal stated that under the supervision of ACP Kamal Sharma and the leadership of the Chandni Mahal police station team, an intensive investigation was launched. CCTV footage from the hospital and nearby lanes was examined thoroughly. Based on technical analysis and local intelligence inputs, the police managed to arrest all four accused within just five hours of registering the FIR. During interrogation, main accused Wasim confessed that he frequently had disputes with his wife. He suspected that his brother-in-law was instigating her against him and interfering in their marital life. Driven by this suspicion, he planned to “teach him a lesson.” On the day of the incident, when he learned that his brother-in-law would be present at the hospital, he called his brother and friends with weapons and executed the attack. Police investigations further revealed that the accused were previously involved in a 2021 attempt-to-murder case registered at Chandni Mahal police station. The police have recovered three knives and the scooter used in the crime. All injured victims are undergoing treatment, and the accused have been sent to judicial custody. This incident raises a serious question: Are minor suspicions and domestic disputes now enough to push people in Delhi toward attempted murder? In several recent cases, stabbings have occurred without any substantial motive. Suspicion, anger, or momentary rage seems sufficient for individuals to take extreme steps. The rising incidents of knife attacks in the national capital are becoming a growing law-and-order challenge. More concerning is the possibility that some criminals may believe they can escape strict punishment. The Turkman Gate case highlights how a domestic disagreement — without any concrete cause — turned into a violent and near-fatal assault. There is an urgent need for greater awareness, dialogue, and emotional control within families and society so that minor disputes do not escalate into bloodshed, and so that the fear of law remains firmly established among potential offenders in the capital.
