E' possibile un'informazione mediatica precisa e basata sull'evidenza scientifica anche sotto la pressione dei tempi della pandemia? In questo talk Guido Poli ci fa riflettere sull'importanza del mettere il rigore scientifico al centro del dibattito mediatico e ci propone la "cura" ad una nuova forma di pandemia, l'infodemia: la sovrabbondanza di informazioni che porta a condividere sui media notizie superficiali o errate su temi scientifici. Is accurate information based on scientific evidence possible on media even in the pressuring times of a pandemic? In this talk Guido Poli makes us reflect on the importance of putting scientific evidence at the center of the media debate and proposes the "cure" to a new form of pandemic, "infodemic": the overabundance of information that leads to sharing news in the media that are superficial or erroneous. Guido Poli è immuno-virologo, ricercatore, docente e Presidente del Corso di Laurea in Ricerca Biotecnologica in Medicina dell’Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele. È inoltre Fondatore e Presidente del Patto Trasversale per la Scienza, che ha come obiettivo la promozione e la diffusione della scienza e del metodo scientifico sperimentale in Italia, al fine di superare ogni azione che generi disinformazione su temi scientifici. È autore di oltre 250 pubblicazioni scientifiche. Guido Poli is an immuno-virologist, researcher, professor and President of the Course in Biotechnological Research in Medicine at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele. He is also Founder and President of the Transversal Pact for Science, which aims at promoting and spreading science and the experimental scientific method in Italy, so to overcome any action that generates misinformation on scientific matters.
