Have you heard about end-of-life doulas, sometimes called death doulas? End-of-life doulas offer social-emotional wrap-around services related to planning for death, actively dying, and wrapping up affairs. They are increasing in numbers, filling in gaps and supporting patients, caregivers, and families. Melissa Chanselle-Hary, a northern Nevada-based end-of-life doula, will share more about the role, bust myths about the field, and describe the ideal model of how an end-of-life doula can be integrated into a patient's care team. This webinar will introduce the role of end-of-life doulas and how they differ from other members of the care team while fitting into the broader spectrum of end-of-life care. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how end-of-life doulas support individuals and families alongside clinicians. About Melissa Melissa Chanselle-Hary is an End-of-Life Doula, Educator, and Reiki Master in northern Nevada and owner and founder of Sacred Transits. She works with individuals and families to support End-of-Life care, well before, during, and after death. She is the Director of End-of-Life Services for DOULA CO-OP of Nevada and lives in Sparks with her 13-year-old son, husband of 20 years, and many, many plants.
