Two Alarm House Fire with Entrapment on the 200 Block of North Roosevelt Avenue in the Village of Endicott, New York On March 7th, at approximately 04:38 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, both the Endicott Police Department and Endicott Fire Department were summoned to 208 North Roosevelt Avenue in the Village of Endicott for a reported building fire. Officers from the Endicott Police Department were amongst the first to arrive at the scene, relaying to dispatch that there was a working fire and there was entrapment. Officers were able to assist several people from the residence, one of whom had jumped from a window. Quint 25 arrived on scene and initiated the primary search and initial fire attack, with Squad 25 forward laying from a hydrant on the corner of North Roosevelt Avenue and Jenkins Street. During this time, a second alarm assignment was requested. The second alarm assignment summoned Engine 31-1, Engine 29-1, Tower 32-1, Rescue 53, and off-duty personnel from the Endicott Fire Department. Additionally, it placed additional departments and personnel on standby. The fire was under control by about 07:15 a.m. the same day. Per Endicott Fire Chief Joseph Griswold, one individual was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The Endicott Fire Department was assisted by off-duty E.F.D. personnel, the West Corners Fire Department, the Endwell Fire Department, the Vestal Fire Department, the Union Center Fire Department, the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad, the Maine Emergency Squad, the Broome County Office of Emergency Services, the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, and the Endicott Police Department.
