Thank you for supporting me and believing in me to help you along your journey. _____ In this video I go over how to x-ray the lumbar spine (L-Spine) with bending views. I will go over how to do the l-spine on the table with obliques in another video. Bending views at my facility are more common than obliques (very rare). It’s great practice to know how to be versatile when it comes to an exam and knowing how to get the views standing or on the table. For one, standing views will show you more information as the patient is “weight bearing.” Compared to a patient laying down eliminating gravity. Second, it’s quicker and more efficient (your patient isn’t having a workout trying to turn on their side, you don’t have to wait for the table to go up and down, you don’t have to change the sheets, etc.) Obviously, you’ll run into patients who can’t stand, then this is when you’ll have them on the table. With that being said, I was taught to do my l-spines on the table at first as a student. But now, as I’m working with ortho/spine doctors, they require their patients standing. And after understanding why, it just makes sense to me to do my views standing when possible. IF THERE'S ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO ASK! HAPPY POSITIONING! #xraytech
