It’s hard to believe but true…we entered into our final day of our Europe anniversary trip! Flying from Munich to Chicago, we’ve got to first take a VERY early morning Uber ride to the airport. Yes, we could have taken multiple trains (and transfers) to get there, but feeling exhausted and a little sore from the travel, we decide to Uber direct to the airport. Looking for our Uber driver, all of a sudden a guy walks up to us on the street, asking for Mel. It’s him! We take a very comfy, 45-minute Uber ride to the beautiful Munich airport, where we check-in quickly and hope for the best while we are down on the list of upgrades for our flight home. A 9-hour flight later (and many movies, meals, and naps), we’re back. Back in Nashville, we’re in our warehouse and are finding ourselves reminiscing about our trip and the lessons we’ve learned and are taking forward. Kate looks at it like a “snow globe”…snow settles and sits still, and then when something new happens, it gets shaken up and the slowly settles again, with the same snow but in different places. She shares how that the snowglobe is like travel - things in life get to be normal and a bit routine, and then with travel (especially outside of the country) things get shaken up, you try new things and see new places and have different challenges, and then you settle back into place when you return home. You’re not the same, even though you’re back in the same place, and you take your experiences and learnings with you. We took our early morning risings, our get-up-and-go attitude of being in Europe and continued to implement it in our life back in the States, especially with going to the gym. This European anniversary trip was one for dreams, and we are so blessed to have had the chance to experience it together!
