NOTES: About: MUX & DEMUX Multiplexing is the process of combining multiple signals into one signal, over a shared medium. If analog signals are multiplexed, it is Analog Multiplexing and if digital signals are multiplexed, that process is Digital Multiplexing. The process of multiplexing divides a communication channel into several number of logical channels, allotting each one for a different message signal or a data stream to be transferred. The device that does multiplexing can be simply called as a MUX while the one that reverses the process which is demultiplexing, is called as DEMUX. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About: BLOCK DIAGRAM OF FREQUENCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING (FDM) Frequency division multiplexing is a technique for transmitting several messages on a single transmission channel by dividing frequency domain into slots, one slot for each message. In FDM of an available Bandwidth is divided into a number of non-overlapping slots. One slot for each message. FDM is an analog technique that can be applied, when the B.W of a link is greater than the combined Bandwidth of the signals to be transmitted. Each message input signal is passed through a LPF which is designed to remove high frequency components. The filtered signals are applied to modulator. The modulator modulates the filtered signals with different carrier frequencies. Band pass filters (BPF) are used to restrict the band of each. Modulated wave to its prescribed range. The output of BPF's are combined and then transmitted over a single channel. At the receiver, band of BPF's are used to separate message signals on the frequency-occupy basis. Finally, the original message signals are recovered by individual demodulators. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Analog and digital communication system (ADCS) most important question Frequency Division Multiplexing explained in Telugu/diploma & BTech ECE This video explains the most important question in analog and digital communication systems (ADCS) in a simple and easy Telugu language.
