Displaced Threshold Explained - [Deep Dive Into The Displaced Threshold Markings].

Today I'm going to talk about the Displaced Threshold (DTHR) If you watch until the end you will know what a displaced threshold is, how to recognize it and, what are the DTHR runway markings. You have a Displaced Threshold any time the designed beginning of the runway is not co-located with your actual runway Threshold. The Displaced Threshold is not available for landing however, you can use it for take-off. So, on the landing phase, you must touchdown after the actual runway threshold however, during take-off, you can use the portion of the runway before the actual Threshold for your take-off run. This is so because the portion of the runway between the designed runway beginning and the actual threshold, normally, is not treated to support the Landing Impact of your Aircraft. The DTHR is indicated by white arrows that point toward the actual runway threshold.
