Tetzaveh: Ner Tamid—the Eternal Flame--Closing only... Mistakes happen! I recorded the entire opening while muted!!! Here's the summary, and you have the video of my closing. Apologies...MW With Tetzaveh—"you shall command”—the people are commanded to bring pure olive oil for lighting a “ner tamid,” a continually burning flame which Aharon and his sons will place before the Ark of the Covenant. “Tamid” means continuous, constant, and this Light represents the constant Presence of G-d in the Mishkan (Tabernacle). Just as with Terumah and building the Mishkan, we focused on G-d dwelling “b’tocham”--among us, inside of us, so this week with Tetzaveh, we continue internalizing this Presence. Here, it is a continually burning flame, accessible at all times, fueled by the pure soul G-d has placed within us.
