Bodycam DUI Arrest - Transit Van Driver Gets Arrested for DUI at 11:00 AM

On October 25, 2023, Roswell Police Officer Taylor stopped a female motorist for allegedly driving through 2 stop signs. Initially, Officer Taylor seemed very irate and condescending and the woman seemed very impaired. As the encounter went on, Officer Taylor calmed down and the woman appeared more sober. However, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which she failed miserably. She was placed under arrest and, after being read the New Mexico Implied Consent Act requirements, she refused to submit to a breath test. At the police station, she again refused a breath test, but indicated she would consent to a blood test if she was transported to the hospital of her choice. She was read the New Mexico Implied Consent Act requirements for a blood draw and inquired about exercising her right to have an independent test of her blood conducted. Officer Taylor gets fed up with the woman and closes the door of the holding cell. She was charged with Aggravated DUI and 2 counts of failing to stop at a stop sign. She has a jury trial scheduled for March 2024.
