#glutes #glutemed #glutemedius Disclaimer: you can't target or activate a muscle in isolation, we can only emphasis or focus on certain muscles, knowing that many muscles are getting recruited. Knowing the activation of muscles with certain exercises can be a helpful factor when constructing and implementing a rehab or strength program. The glute medius is one of the three glute muscles that comprises the buttocks. The muscle is a board, fan shaped muscle located on the later pelvis. There are actually 3 different parts to it, anterior, middle and posterior, with all slightly different functions. The main ones being ABduction of the leg and stabilization of the thigh (femur) relative to the pelvis. We cover the top 5 exercises for glute med activation which was assessed by maximum voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) via EMG. Which is a standardized method for measurement of muscle strength in different individuals.
