In Cambodia, pharmacists are often the first point of contact for patients. Yet, most independent pharmacies—over 3,000 nationwide—still operate without digital tools, leading to overstock, expired medicines, and financial losses in a context where many patients struggle to afford treatment. To address these challenges, PillTech was launched five years ago. This B2B platform enables pharmacists to order more than 3,000 products at transparent prices, with fast delivery within 48 hours. But innovation goes further: Pill Tech created Pill Tech Academy, a continuing education program that helps pharmacists renew their licenses, enhance their skills, and provide better recommendations to patients. This initiative fully aligns with the strategy of Sanofi’s Global Health Unit, which aims to strengthen health systems in low-and middle-income countries by focusing on two key levers: access to quality, affordable medicines and training healthcare professionals. By supporting PillTech, Sanofi contributes to tangible impact: more than 1,000 pharmacies served and 12,000 pharmacists trained annually. The result: more time for patients, improved care, and ultimately, lives saved. The project reflects the Global Health Unit’s vision: going beyond product distribution to ensure every pharmacy has essential medicines and the skills to serve its community. A sustainable, quality-driven approach that is making a real difference for public health in Cambodia.
