Installed in 1971 to replace a single chair on the original Red Mountain, this Mueller double serves intermediate and advanced terrain. Red at this point until 1995 had two Mueller doubles like this, the other being the original Granite Mountain double. It’s a pretty standard early model Mueller double, with a compact drive/tension terminal at the bottom followed by a portal tower, a single mast flyover fixed return, center pole Mueller chairs, single grips, Mueller sheaves, and lattice towers. It used to have both double jaw & single jaw grips, but all have been replaced with single jaw grips. It’s a very aesthetically pleasing lift and has been very well maintained but is still 55 years old this year, Red has not announced any replacement plans, so I imagine this lift is here to stay for the time being.
