©2022 by Roberto Bertero Hi! Welcome to my 19th video posted on YouTube :-) This episode is dedicated to the water: the essential element for life. During my explorations in the mountains it becomes clear how fundamental it is, as it would be completely impossible to stay overnight in a place without water... therefore a stream, a waterfall, a tiny lake, snow or ice to melt, are enough to transform a place from uninhabitable to habitable. In locations isolated from comforts, such as the mountains, one goes back giving value to the essential and perceives how much this planet is alive, based on unavoidable natural laws. A planet with its own breath, with its own rhythms, where everything constantly seeks a balance, between one glaciation and another. Mankind, who always gives itself great importance, is completely marginal in this process and nothing can do to modify it. However, it is good practice to be aware of one's transience and to commit in creating more good than damage. The music used in this video (as in a previous of mine dedicated to the fog) is the soundtrack of the movie “Solaris" (1972) whose director, Andrei Tarkovsky, decided to include a composition by J.S. Bach as a musical commentary during the most meaningful sequences of the plot. Specifically, it is the chorale prelude “Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ”, BWV 639, extracted from Bach’s Orgelbüchlein and further masterfully arranged by Eduard Artemyev with some electronic and synthesizers additions. Solaris IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069293/ My name is Roberto Bertero, I am a photographer-musician from Turin. I have been exploring the Alps for as long as I can remember and since 15 years I am devoted to photograph the most significant moments, up there, in the high mountains! I’ve opened this YouTube channel, in order to document some of my adventures also through the video; a new experience for me, which I find very fascinating. It goes without saying that the photographs I include in my videos are all available for sale on my website. I usually hike alone, or sometimes in the company of my girlfriend. I believe that only in this way is it possible to hear the subtle intimate essence of certain places. All places naturally speak to us, it is up to us to refine our ability to listen. My aim is to share my alpine experiences lived at all hours and in all seasons. So, through my works - which I hope will be more and more refined in capturing mountain's soul - you will see the Alps in all possible light conditions: twilight, dawn, daylight, sunset, blue hour, night… in the moonlight or beneath the magical mantle of the Milky Way. Join me in this adventure! :-) - - New videos are in preparation, so SUBSCRIBE to the channel if you haven't already :-) Subscribe: / @alpspicturestales - - Website: http://www.robertobertero.com Instagram: / roberto.bertero Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/1398092... - - MY GEAR: Canon EOS 5D Mark II Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Canon remote controller RC-6 GoPro Hero 8 Black Tripod - Benro C-057 n6 Backpack - Osprey Exos 58 Backpack - Salewa Peuterey 40 Tent - Ferrino Pumori 2 (looking to replace it with something lighter!)
