My MOUNTAINS - On the Wings of the WIND

Welcome to my 27th video posted on YouTube :-) This episode is dedicated to the mountains as a place of movement: from the clouds in the sky, to the Tibetan prayer flags, to the trees and their branches, the algae in the water, the concentric circles of a stone falling into an alpine lake, the mighty waterfalls, the grass, the sinuous clouds along the valleys below or which spectacularly and with great violence envelop majestic peaks... EVERYTHING MOVES, including light, which every good photographer must always carefully chase. I’ve filmed this footage partly in Italy and partly in France: in the Susa Valley, at the Petit Mont-Cenis, at the Pascal Bivouac, in the Vallée Étroite, on the Rutor, at the Col d'Ambin and on the summit of mount Thabor. Never as in this case, fits perfectly a quote from the movie “Seven Years in Tibet” by great director Jean-Jacques Annaud: "In this place where time stands still, it seems like everything is moving, including me”. One of my favorite sentences ever! Because I live it constantly, every time I'm up there in the mountains. My name is Roberto Bertero, I am a photographer-musician from Turin. I have been exploring the Alps for as long as I can remember and since 15 years I am devoted to photograph the most significant moments, up there, in the high mountains! I’ve opened this YouTube channel, in order to document some of my adventures also through the video; a new experience for me, which I find very fascinating. It goes without saying that the photographs I include in my videos are all available for sale on my website. I usually hike alone, or sometimes in the company of my girlfriend. I believe that only in this way is it possible to hear the subtle intimate essence of certain places. All places naturally speak to us, it is up to us to refine our ability to listen. My aim is to share my alpine experiences lived at all hours and in all seasons. So, through my works - which I hope will be more and more refined in capturing mountain's soul - you will see the Alps in all possible light conditions: twilight, dawn, daylight, sunset, blue hour, night… in the moonlight or beneath the magical mantle of the Milky Way.
