Welcome to my 28th video posted on YouTube :-) The idea of this ”Mountain Glimpses" series, arises from the desire to describe, in a few minutes, fragments, sensations, visions, peculiarity, inherent specific attributes of the mountain. These miniatures will be all numbered and each will therefore have a specific subject. I will thus have the opportunity to take full advantage of my huge photographic work, accomplished over the years, using shots already posted online on my social networks, plus a large number of unpublished photographs of mine. This ”Mountain Glimpse" is dedicated to darkness. Darkness is often thought of as something negative, nothing more wrong in my opinion, personally I love being in the mountains at night... in fact that specific aspect made me fall in love with adventure and the true and deeply lived experiences that can derive from being in unique places during such mystical hours of the day. Darkness favors meditation and, especially in the mountains, allows o practice detaching from the things of this world. It leads to a deeper vision of things (beyond the prevailing superficiality) and its silence speaks directly to the heart and to the senses in a way that, as far as I'm concerned, no other earthly experience can do. My name is Roberto Bertero, I am a photographer-musician from Turin. I have been exploring the Alps for as long as I can remember and since 15 years I am devoted to photograph the most significant moments, up there, in the high mountains! I’ve opened this YouTube channel, in order to document some of my adventures also through the video; a new experience for me, which I find very fascinating. It goes without saying that the photographs I include in my videos are all available for sale on my website. I usually hike alone, or sometimes in the company of my girlfriend. I believe that only in this way is it possible to hear the subtle intimate essence of certain places. All places naturally speak to us, it is up to us to refine our ability to listen. My aim is to share my alpine experiences lived at all hours and in all seasons. So, through my works - which I hope will be more and more refined in capturing mountain's soul - you will see the Alps in all possible light conditions: twilight, dawn, daylight, sunset, blue hour, night… in the moonlight or beneath the magical mantle of the Milky Way.
