My Mama’s Old Bible is a song I wrote for my mother, Mama Thonglu Moolsarn, who passed away on December 1, 2025. One month after her funeral, I returned home for Christmas and New Year without her. The house felt empty. Nothing was the same. I missed her presence, her kindness, her smile, and her encouraging words. My mother was a woman of strong faith. She lived by Christian values and trusted the Lord with all her heart. When I went into her old room, I found her Bible by the window. Every page was marked. Photos of family were placed inside. It was full of love, memories, and prayers. Reading her Bible took me back to my childhood. She used God’s word to teach us how to love, forgive, and care for one another. In moments when I felt lost—failed in work, broken in love, or overwhelmed by life—I remembered the verses she knew by heart and taught to all of us: her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. This song is about the heritage of faith she left behind. When life becomes hard and I need answers, I know I can always return to Mama’s Bible. In Loving Memory Mama Thonglu Moolsarn Born: January 6, 1928 Passed Away: December 1, 2025 Age: 98 Lyrics by: Jui Moolsarn Music & Singer: Suno AI I came back home worn down and tired Dreams felt small, hope half expired Rain on my coat, dust on my shoes Lost so much, didn’t know what to do I walked upstairs to her old room Quiet air and a fading perfume Mama’s gone, but the room felt alive Like love still breathing inside Her old Bible lay by the bed Corners bent from words she read Every line marked strong and true Like Mama talking straight to you She said, “Son, when you’re lost inside, Trust the Lord, don’t run and hide Don’t lean hard on what you see, He’ll make straight what you can’t be.” Son, read the Bible, say a little prayer Answers get clearer when God’s right there Mama loves you, heaven knows Read His word… then go your road When I was young, she never failed First to listen, first to save When fear got loud about tomorrow Mama prayed away my sorrow She said, “Son, God’s your light, Why be afraid when He’s your strength? Hold your ground, stand up tall, You don’t walk this road alone at all.” I grew up chasing love too fast Broken hearts, a dishonest past Mama said, “Son, here’s the truth, Love stays kind, love stays true It don’t brag, it don’t betray, It hopes and endures come what may That love won’t fade, it won’t depart, That’s the love I gave your heart.” “Son, take my Bible,” Mama says, “Faith and hope will steady your steps Love’s the greatest—don’t forget Let your light shine, don’t hide it yet There’s a season for every pain Every loss, every gain God’s got plans you can’t yet see Hope and future—that’s His promise to thee.” Son, read the Bible, don’t lose your way Start with prayer, end your day Mama loves you, that’s still true God’s word lives on… inside of you
