Hello Little Learners, I hope that you are all keeping safe and well! Here is a little video with some breathing exercises to help you feel safe and calm. I feel it is so important to take some time out of each day for a moment of calm, to tune into our breathing and reset so that we are ready for the rest of the day's adventures ahead. However, this is something that can be done at any time of the day, when you need a little moment of quiet or just before bedtime so you are ready to sleep. Use it in whatever way you would like! I do it in my Nursery every day and the children love it. They have now got really good at taking deep breaths if they are feeling a bit anxious or worried. It’s a fantastic way to help young children self regulate and understand their emotions. I have begun by looking at two simple breathing exercises. I will be posting some more ideas and yoga stretches soon so keep your eyes peeled! • 🌼 The ball I used in this video is called a “Kikier Child Magic Telescopic” and you can find it on Amazon. I got this idea from an amazing lady who runs the company YogaBeez. Their mission is to enable more children to benefit from the teachings of yoga and mindfulness. I attended a training course led by Bryony Duckitt who is the founder of the company and was mesmerised by this amazing technique! I couldn’t wait to buy my ‘Telescopic’ and introduce it to my Nursery class! • • 🌼 Explore in whatever way you and your children would like, but most importantly have fun!
