April 11th Friday Features - PLSHS Mock Crash

On Friday, April 11 approximately 800 junior and senior high school students from Papillion-La Vista South High School converged onto the front parking lot for a "mock" crash simulation. As students arrive in the parking lot, they will witness a mock, two car crash complete with high school drama students as victims. Emergency personnel including fire trucks, rescue squads and life flight will all respond to the "mock" crash as if it were a real crash scene. Students will hear over the loudspeaker the communication that will take place between the emergency personnel. At the conclusion of the "mock" crash, students assembled in the gym. they heard from speakers that talked about the dangers of drinking and/or texting while driving and watched a powerful video on texting and driving.
