You don't need anything fancy to fix BJJ Posture - All you need is a couple of solid exercises that allow you to open up whats tight. As grapplers it's extremely common that our posture starts to morph into that of a grappling gollum. The grappling gollum posture looks like: Shoulders rounded forward Upper back rounded Head forward Working on your neck is never a bad idea, but as you'll see in this video, focussing just on the neck is often not the key to correcting this common BJJ posture. By focussing on the shoulder position (stretching the pec) and bringing extension back into the upper spine (opening up the thoracic spine), we allow the neck to return to a more natural position - on top of the shoulders. Try the two stretches in this video every day. Take 5 mins and make it part of your post-training routine, and you will see your BJJ posture start to change back to one that is longer and more upright. I'd love to hear how this worked for you.
