Hello everyone, I'm Alin 🤗 This journey takes us to Chongqing for a unique experience: catching the dawn market that starts at 4 a.m. Every day before dawn, Shichuan Station on Chongqing Metro Line 4 welcomes a special group of passengers. Most are seniors in their 70s and 80s, carrying bamboo baskets on their backs or balancing goods on shoulder poles. Their loads are packed with freshly picked vegetables, ready to be sold in downtown Chongqing via the rail transit system. To make it to the market, these elders typically rise at 4 a.m. to harvest their crops. After careful preparation, they carry loads weighing dozens of pounds on foot to the station, then take a one-hour subway ride into downtown Chongqing. The morning market nestles within a neighborhood steeped in vintage charm. It stands as one of the few old-style markets in Chongqing's main urban area that still retains a strong sense of everyday life. Each dawn, crowds gather here as locals come to stock up on daily ingredients. The market features designated areas for temporary stalls. These elderly vegetable sellers journey from the suburbs each dawn, carrying baskets on their backs and taking the subway specifically for this market. Their produce is exceptionally fresh, making them very popular among local residents. The Yeshuigou Morning Market is not merely a bustling marketplace; it is a true snapshot of daily life in Chongqing. =========================================================== #ChineseFarmers #ChineseUrbanLife #Chongqing #ChongqingStreetMarket #RuralChina #UnseenChina
