The Police: Shadows in the Rain (1980) off their 3rd album, Zenyatta Mondatta. This highly reggae-influenced track features a truly perfect bassline by Sting. As is typically in reggae music, notice that the bass never plays on the downbeats. Sting is the master of motif-based basslines, and here he builds up tension over the course of the chord progression, moving further and further away from the obvious A minor notes.
