The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift has finally been launched in the country. The Baleno is available in four variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha - with a choice of either diesel or petrol engine. The petrol variants are priced between Rs 5.45 lakh and Rs 8.77 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi), while the diesel variants are priced between Rs 6.60 lakh and Rs 8.60 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). Apart from the base-spec Sigma variant, every other variant of the petrol-powered Baleno is available with a CVT gearbox. Maruti Baleno Powertrain: The Baleno facelift retains the same powertrain setup as the pre-facelift Baleno. Petrol variants are powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine (84PS/115Nm) mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or CVT. The diesel variants get a 1.3-litre turbocharged motor (75PS/190Nm) sourced from Fiat. It is only available with a 5-speed MT. The petrol engine has a claimed fuel efficiency of 21.4kmpl while the diesel engine is even more frugal, at 27.39kmpl. Maruti Baleno Features: The 2019 Baleno comes with a new 7-inch touchscreen that gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Maruti has also added LED projector headlamps, new alloy wheels and made rear parking sensors standard across all variants of the new Baleno. The premium hatchback also gets auto climate control, a passive keyless entry system and push-button start/stop. Safety features include ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors and dual front airbags. A rear view camera is also present.
