Channa Kurma is a South Indian restaurant style gravy made with boiled chickpeas. It is different from the North Indian Chole or Chana Masala made with onions, tomatoes and spice powders. This is distinctly Tamil style, with freshly prepared coconut based spice paste. It is rich, creamy and really delicious but does not take much time to prepare at all. Chana Palak Kurma (chana saag) is made with chickpeas, spinach, onions, ginger, tomatoes, and mild spices. This spinach chickpea curry is a fresh new take on an old-time favorite. A delicious meal balanced with warm spices and subtle flavor is less than 30 minutes away with this great chana palak recipe! This chana palak kurma I am sharing today also uses coconut , cashews and basic spices, making it delectable. Additon of palak puree gives good green colour and also a healthier version. This recipe uses white poppy seeds. If poppy seeds is something that is not available in a country where you live, just omit .
