Join us on a breathtaking journey through the enchanting streets of Prague as we embark on a magnificent stroll from the iconic Powder Tower (Prašná Brána) to the vibrant Havel's Market (Havelské tržiště), with a delightful detour through Fruit Market Square (Ovocný trh). In this video, you'll experience the rich history and vibrant culture that define this stunning city. Starting at the majestic Prašná Brána, marvel at its Gothic architecture. The Powder Tower (German: der Pulverturm) is a late Gothic building on the border of Na Příkopě Street and Republic Square next to the Municipal House. It is one of the symbols of Prague. Celetná Street begins at the gate, which forms the first part of the Royal Route that leads from here to Prague Castle. The gate was built in 1475 for representational purposes and replaced the St. Ambrose Gate (part of the then no longer needed Old Town fortification), but it was not completed until the end of the 19th century, in the pseudo-Gothic purist style. The gate is 65 metres high, the viewing gallery is 44 metres high and has 186 steps leading up to it. Then we will walk through the magnificent Fruit Market square. The Fruit Market is a public space located in the Old Town of Prague in the Prague 1 district, which serves as a street parallel to Prague's Příkopy, lying to the south of it. The name of this place comes from earlier times, when there used to be a marketplace here, where mainly fruit and vegetables were sold, which was still sold here in the early 20th century. A market has been documented here since the 13th century. The current name was introduced in 1870. Finally, we’ll make our way to Havelské tržiště, one of Prague's oldest markets, where you can discover an array of handmade goods, souvenirs, and traditional Czech treats. The charming surroundings and friendly vendors create an inviting ambiance that captures the essence of Prague. Whether you're a history buff, a foodie, or simply looking to enjoy the beauty of this magical city, this stroll promises to be an unforgettable experience.
