To make this dessert, you only need 3 main ingredients to make it. And in this video i have shared step by step guide to make a perfect mung bean moon cakes. Previously, i did shared a few moon cakes recipes and to close the curtain on moon cake recipe series, this will be the last call in conjunction of Mid- Autumn Festival (中秋节) celebrations this year. It'll help motivate me! ❤️🙏🏻 Mung bean mooncakes Recipe: 250g soaked mung beans 80g honey (use maple syrup or agave nectar if you’re vegan) 20g sugar 100g butter 2 tsp matcha powder Filling: Red bean paste 200g Divide the filling into 20g, set aside Method: 1) Throughly rinse the split mung beans under cold water to remove any dirts. Soak them in cold water for 8 hours or overnight. 2) Drain the mung beans before steaming. Transfer to a steamer, steam for 30 minutes or until soft. 3) Transfer the mung beans to a food processor and process into smooth and powdery. 4)In a skillet add in butter, cook over low heat until the butter melts. Then add in the processed mung beans. 5) Stir and fry the mixture for 3-5 minutes, then add in honey and sugar. 6) Cook another 3 minutes or until the paste is stick together. Let it cool down a bit and then add in matcha powder, mix well combine. 7) Divide the mung beans paste into 60g (depends on the size of the mold). 8) Wrap the mung beans around the red bean filling. Place into the mooncake mold and press to print the flower pattern on the mung beans. 9) Enjoy the mung bean mooncakes right away or keep in the fridge for up to 1 week. 10) Watch my video for more tips to make perfect mung beans mooncake. #mooncooking #mungbeans #mooncake #midautumnfestival
