Despite how difficult and distressing it is, I’ve chosen to cover M.M.I.W. or Missing, Murdered, Indigenous Women. To shed light on how unseen Indigenous women are and the impact this silent genocide has had on the cultural norms of the Indigenous people. Henci! (Hello, everyone!) My name is Jenni Tomah, a junior at Jenks High School. This is my first time participating in Jenks TEDXYOUTH, but I’m so very grateful to have been given the opportunity to raise awareness and educate others on a topic I believe needs to be discussed outside of the Indigenous community.
