The title of the video might not be accurate. There's no documentation listing all the boss battles, so I hope I got everyone. There were some that might be counted as boss battles, but I didn't include. For example, all the Toadette ones. Those battles force you to go 3v3, 4v4, or 6v6. As you can see, I mainly stuck with a 3-slot challenge, that's becoming a habit now. Maybe I included battles that don't count as boss ones, like the battles with trainers using rental mons before battling Penny, but ah well. Importantly, all the Bowser, Luigi, Star Leader, and E4 battles were included. The developers were also included. If I missed anybody, I at least got the most important ones recorded. Anyway, this hack is still fairly fresh and is something I kept seeing on r/PokemonROMhacks, making me interested. It's a fully realized hack where the roster consists of characters and creatures from the Mario franchise. The region is the Mario world, all the characters are from the Mario franchise. I was concerned this would be a joke of a hack or just something specifically catered to a content creator. But nope, the work put into this is nothing short of impressive. Truly a strong showcase of what people can do with the Emerald Decomp. It has a bunch of QoL stuff such as level caps and features that make grinding a non-issue. One nitpick is that I wished the level caps were more strict because it seemed that the cap was always a few levels above the highest-leveled mons on a boss trainer's team. There's a substantial postgame, which was great, but it would've been easier to maintain if the level cap there was just 100. Some of the postgame battles had "Captures" in the 60s, while the developers had Captures in the 70s. Ultimately, it's not a big deal, the difficulty wasn't high. There were some stupid AI moments, such as them not knowing about Earth Eater, I got to capitalize on that. Some setup sweeping that was easy to pull off because of the ineffective AI. Another sign the difficulty wasn't high was because I wasn't fully punished for using so few Captures and bruteforcing my way through stuff. If this was a Monotype run or if I researched the roster more, I would've used more Captures. Completing this hack's Dex is a "Quest," so I did end up seeing all the Captures. The quests are pretty nice, two are not implemented yet, so don't mind the 2 mysterious slots. The roster boasts some decent type combinations, such as a Ghost/Fighting, a Normal/Ghost, Dark/Ghost, and Dark/Fairy. Many of them only evolve once, interestingly. I paid too much at the stats, there's at least documentation on the stats and locations of these Captures. If I didn't care so much about high BSTs, then I would've used more Captures. It was also rather cheap for me to use the Ditto of this hack, Duplighost, but it allowed me to sample some other Captures. I guess the point is that if I played this again, I would be more strategic and serious, which is funny because this is a rather silly, albeit enjoyable hack. I definitely recommend it, The music's from the hack itself, battle themes mainly.
