I assume most people know about this hack since it's been out for a while. If you don't know, Lazarus is an Emerald hack made by Nemo622, who created Emerald Seaglass. Both hacks featured a visual throwback aesthetic of the Gen 2 games. The tiles, sprites, and assets resemble that of the Gen 2 games. Lazarus is new region hack with a new, albeit familiar story. 8 Gym Leaders, a Pokemon League, and an evil team. The roster consists of over 400 mons spanning Gen 1-9. There are several QoL features, a lot of them were in Emerald Seaglass. Most helpful of those features is the cheat system, which made grinding a non-issue. I played on Hard Mode, which isn't intense in difficulty. I had problems, but they were more or less due to the monotype. For example, one of the Gym Leaders uses Ground and Electric-type mons, and obviously the latter were a hassle. That team also had Intimidate users and was a Double battle. At that point, most of my mons were physical. There were other hurdles, but it's certainly not a difficulty enhancement hack. Admittedly, I didn't get to fully appreciate the custom music for the hack, because I played on speedup. The music for this video is that of Lazarus. I couldn't find downloadable music, so I recorded different battle themes. After you become champion, there's a postgame challenge where you battle 3 consecutive trainers with healing between each one for some reward. I recorded the tracks that played in one session. The final track is the Champion battle theme. The hack features buffs for a lot of the roster. Type, moveset, and ability changes abound. Dodrio, for example, is Ground and Flying. There is also Mega Evolution, which include some introduced in the new Legends ZA game and even custom ones such as Mega Noctowl and Archeops. There were some visual glitches. No crashes though. I don't know where PP-most estoring items are. I don't recall ever finding Ethers or Elixirs. I had some Leppa Berries, and that was only a need for the E4. DexNaving for mons on the sea was a hassle because the mons would change spots a few times before you can initiate the encounter. Also, sometimes the water encounter goes out of bounds and you can't reach it. This is similar to early DexNav issues. I didn't like the fishing changes. Fishing was made into a little minigame, and I didn't care for that. These are all minor gripes by the way. Less minor is how the AI uses healing items, but that's an issue with Pokemon in general. Overall, this was a fun hack and well worth playing multiple times. 0:00 - Polymnia 0:28 - Rania 0:46 - Ourani 1:23 - Team Chimera Admin 1:54 - Kleio 2:28 - Chimera Admin 3:05 - Niko 3:27 - Terpsikore's gym challenge 4:51 - Euterpe 5:34 - Chimera Admin 6:09 - Rania 6:36 - Cooltrainer Stella 6:56 - Thal & Mel 7:57 - Rania 8:51 - Rhadine 9:24 - Chimera Admin with Gouging Fire 10:16 - Chimera Admin with Walking Wake 11:10 - Team Chimera Boss Kalliope with Raging Bolt 12:20 - Rania 13:09 - Chimera Admin (8th Gym) 13:37 - Chimera Admin 2 (8th Gym) 14:01 - Kalliope (8th Gym) 14:40 - Rania 15:10 - Elite 4/Champion Enjoy the video.
