Its sheer beauty is breathtaking and it is also remembered as a symbol of love of Mughal Emperor Shahjahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Since it is a very well known tourist destination, Taj Mahal attracts continous stream of tourists and other visitors all the time. So for proper sightseeing, prior booking either online or through travel agent is strongly recommended. Otherwise you end up spending a lot of time waiting in the queue for buying ticket at the monument itself. Besides, if you desire night viewing of Taj Mahal on or around Full Moon day (like we were keen about), then another separate booking is necessary. You are allotted a 30 minutes slot for night viewing. You have to reach Taj Mahal well ahead of the scheduled time slot, go through several quite strict security checks, before you get to watch the marvellous beauty of Taj Mahal on the Full Moon day. You also have to be lucky for night viewing, like we were. Luckily for us, there were no cloud cover or rains during our night viewing despite a weather forecast to the contrary! Any attempt to describe beauty of this eternal symbol of love is like showing a lamp to the Sun! Beauty of Taj Mahal can be better described in pictures and video, rather than in words.
