If you have a sharp one-sided pain on the back of your hip off to one side that comes and goes, and at times might feel debilitating, you could be experiencing common SI joint pain. It also sometimes feels like a dull ache through your hip and low back area. Our goal is to massage the muscles surrounding this joint that are over-contracting, so we can break up those muscle spasms, which are relentlessly tugging on the bones surrounding the SI joint. Then our tissues can relax, loosen, create some slack and allow the SI Joint to nestle back into its proper position. I’ll be using Yoga Tune Up® therapy balls, the first one we’ll use is the Coregeous, a soft squishy ball, but you can swap a roundish pillow or something else for it, as long as it isn't hard.
