Welcome to Part 2 of my Plein Air Sketching in Watercolor for absolute beginners! In Part 1, we talked about the importance of building foundational skills to translate 3D objects into clear, simplified drawing forms. I also shared progressive exercises you can do at home to develop those skills. In Part 2, we’ll take those skills outdoors and apply them on location by sketching a variety of subjects, starting small by sketching individual objects, moving onto sketching vignettes, using colors, and eventually, creating a finished painting on-site.
