Tras más de 30 años atendiendo emergencias neurológicas, el Dr. Tomás Segura presenta dos casos que marcaron su trayectoria y ayudan a comprender mejor el porqué de los grandes avances alcanzados en la atención al ictus durante este periodo de tiempo. Su charla combina ciencia, experiencia y humanidad para mostrar cómo la tecnología y el trabajo en equipo están cambiando el destino de miles de pacientes con infarto cerebral. Tomás Segura is a neurologist and Full Professor of Neurology at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. He completed his residency at Hospital de La Princesa (Madrid) and holds a PhD in Medicine. Since 2000, he has worked at the University Hospital of Albacete, where he has led the Stroke Unit since 2009 and has served as Head of Neurology since 2012. He has been principal investigator in over 40 international projects and received 17 competitive research grants focused on stroke, neurodegeneration, neuro-oncology, Parkinson’s, and post-COVID syndrome. Author of more than 190 indexed articles and 40 book chapters, his h-index is 41. Currently, he leads a multidisciplinary research team exploring both clinical and molecular aspects of neurological diseases. He is also Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Albacete, a full member of the Regional Academy of Medicine, and Vice President of the Official College of Physicians of Albacete.
