On today’s walk around Ubud, Bali, I come across the final act of the recent long ceremony and celebrations in Ubud as men bring down the penjors and decorations to deconstruct them before putting them to the fire. This is the end of a once in a thirty year celebration and ceremony - it's over! A pleasant man named Komang talks to me about the local sense of community and how locals retain their traditions and culture here. I also talk with a shop owner about her recent business move from a shopping centre, her children, their education and work, as well as look at the small bits and pieces she sells for offerings. Komang the young woman who introduced me to Burbur a few weeks ago happens to be found in the street and I have a catch up conversation with her.
