In this video, I fully disassemble a seized Volvo 2.5T engine (short block only) and uncover what caused it to lock up. This engine has been sitting for a while, and before filming I had already removed the cylinder head and oil sump about a year ago. That means we’re starting with just the short block and working all the way down to bare components. During this teardown, I remove the pistons, crankshaft, oil pump, and oil squirters, inspecting each piece along the way to see what condition it’s in. After pulling the pistons, I think I finally found the culprit behind the engine seizure... Whether you’re interested in engine teardown videos, learning how the Volvo 2.5T engine is built, or just curious about what can cause an engine to seize, this video should give you a detailed look inside. I cover each step of the engine disassembly process and point out any damage or unusual wear I find. This type of content is great for DIY mechanics, Volvo enthusiasts, or anyone who enjoys engine repair, rebuilding, and diagnosing mechanical failures. Even if you don’t plan on rebuilding an engine yourself, you’ll get a close-up look at what happens when a turbocharged engine fails internally. 👉 Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more engine teardowns, rebuild projects, and automotive content!
