Mourners gathered outside the mayor's house STORYLINE: AP Television News filmed clashes between insurgents and Iraqi security troops on Wednesday in the restive neighbourhood of Azamiyah in northern Baghdad. Gunfire could be heard in the streets as Iraqi troops were seen poised to launch an imminent attack. The troops seized weapons and ammunition they found at al-Mufti mosque, said an Iraqi army colonel. Various kinds of seized weapons and ammunition could be seen in the back of a military vehicle. Elswhere, in what has been a a particularly bloody week in Iraq, a bomb hidden in an air conditioner exploded in the mayor's office in Muqdadiyah, about 90 kilometres (56 miles) north of Baghdad. The mayor, Sheik Allaywi Farhan al-Dulaimi, a member of the Sunni Iraqi Islamic Party was killed and three of his guards were wounded, police said. Mourners gathered at his house where his body lay before he was to be taken away for burial.
