From 4-6 March 2024 the PILON Sexual and Gender Based Violence Working Group held an Implementation Workshop in Nadi, Fiji, for the Regional Guidelines for Prosecutors and Witness Support Officers to support Vulnerable Witnesses through the Prosecution of Sexual and Gender Based Violence Offences. Professor Julia Ioane is a clinical psychologist registered in New Zealand and Australia. She is a professor in clinical psychology teaching in areas of criminal justice, mental health and trauma at Massey University, New Zealand. Julia provides regular supervision with various practitioners working with communities in the justice sector and delivered workshops to agencies on managing wellbeing during COVID-19. During her workshop, Julia focusses on recognising secondary/vicarious trauma, its impacts and how to respond effectively in order to maintain personal health and wellbeing.
