In this video @GVS shares his current training routine, including the split, frequency and volume. Geoffrey and Kenny discuss the age-old saying, "you can train hard or you can train long, but you can't do both" and while there is a grain of truth in this (elaborated with more context in the video), it's important to understand where, how and for who this may apply. It is not uncommon that those who preach this quote will also suggest that if your goal is maximal muscle growth it is best to look at how a sprinter trains (since they are more muscular) than a distance runner, in order to prove the point that you can't physically train hard and long and to even advocate that a 1 set per exercise protocol is the most optimal approach for everyone looking to gain muscle. Again, while there may be a grain of truth in the age-old quote, if one is using the sport of running to support there specific point, one must consider how a sprinter actually trains! While also considering the fact that both distance running and sprinting are both "hard" respectively in their own ways. This is an incredibly interesting and eye opening conversation. Enjoy.
