How to rebuild a precision machine spindle series now has a NEW Part 6. Part 6 is to be added to the very end of the series on how we rebuild a lathe, mill, drill or micro machine spindle. The current series is now adding a final Part 6 to the spindle rebuilding series. The machine spindle rebuilding series already shares each spindle type as focused sub-parts under the main Part 3 offering 6 sub-parts 3a through 3f. MUSEUM UPDATES Watchmaker Swiss, French and American Balance Wheel Calipers, an absolute wonderful variety of calipers, we have 6 new to the museum vintage watchmaker tools first shared in Shop Adventures 39. A total of 5 calipers are now completed, they look great based on their age. Someone really took care of these but one from a country of no origin is going to be hard chrome plated as it was decided by the two of us that it undergoes a full rebuilding process. We will share in future Shop Adventures over the coming months, as progress warrants until it to is shown as to how the tool is or was correctly used in the watchmakers workshop and then be added to the museum. The Museum is a future HANDS-ON working museum. We will offer (as rebuilt refurbished and acquired) vintage to current watchmaker and micro-machining tools, machinery, catalogs, books, literature, blueprints, schematics, on the topic of watch movement parts, timing device parts and instrument gauge parts making and even more types of micro-machined parts. We have been collecting mechanic, machine tools and precision shop tools, collecting well, actually adding tools dating back to even before we started our shop in May of 1993, so you might think, hey these two, they know it all when it comes to tools for this or that job or task at hand? We do not nor does likely anyone else (we believe) know all there is to know about all the tools made, so what we thought to do here was share our tool acquiring what we buy, how we grade our tools and some advice on how to buy tools that are the best you can buy, what coin collecting, trading up taught us and we cover shop made tools, precision tools, low dollar import tools, early day or rare tools and everyday tools including a thought about tools with distributor names on them.
