Well it's that time of year where Valve injects the stuff for Scream Fortress into the Game VPKs and I'm getting tons of requests to tell everyone how to extract the assets for use in SFM. This process has not changed other than the fact that we can now use 2 different programs to unpack the VPKs (GCFScape OR Crowbar) and the Nem's Tools website has gone AWOL! If you are looking to Download GCFScape, do a Google search and look for Nem's Tools Archive. This will produce a finding to a Game Banana Link for a RAR file uploaded by Moltard. (If you don't want to look it up yourself, just click this https://gamebanana.com/tools/6801 ) Three Programs that you'll really want from this package are GCFScape (v1.8.6), VTFEdit (v1.33) and Crafty, but all the old tools that were on the on the Nem's Tools website are in this RAR. The process unpacking assets to SFM is the same for most of the Source1 game engined games and the only folders you want to extract are the Materials, Models, Particles and Sound folders from the VPKs. DO NOT EXTRACT the TF2 GAME CACHE FILES INTO THE SFM TF or USERMOD folders, these 2 folders are vital for SFM. Always create some sort of new modfolder for assets extracted from the VPKs.
