This is one of many cycle synching workouts that Get Greauxing will offer. Right before our menstrual phase is our luteal phase. Our estrogen starts to dip and we are more progesterone dominant, then at the end of luteal phase, all of your hormones drop. This can sometimes make you tired, lethargic, maybe a little down, irritability, water retention, constipation, etc. Cycle cinching our workouts can help with these symptoms. By working with our hormones and listening to our body’s cues, we can help to even out our hormones, honor our body’s cycles, and feel better and healthier. For example, we don’t have a lot of energy to spare during our luteal phase so if we were to do extreme cardio, we would be stressing our body out and increasing cortisol. If we do slower weights, pilates, yoga, etc, we are still able to workout and strengthen but not increase cortisol. For our bodies to function optimally, we generally do more intense workouts during our follicular and ovulation phase and slower workouts during our menstrual and luteal phases. This helps us to have optimal energy and lower symptoms during PMS and during menstruation. By adding the appropriate exercises, we will lower stress, increase serotonin and dopamine, increase strength, improve weight, Learning about our cycle can teach us so much about our bodies and learn how to listen to our bodies cues.
