The Emperor Suite: "The Imperial Gardens"

It has been seven years since his ascendance to the throne, and in that time the people have flourished and there is great happiness throughout the land. He has found true love and is now the proud father of twin sons and three daughters. In a moment of idyllic contentment, he sits and watches the children as they play in the gardens amidst the pools and fountains and remembers his own childhood. There is an almost hypnotic quality to the sound of the water, and the myriad rainbows reflecting on the dancing waters create an aura of otherworldliness. The only other sound is the children’s laughter as they try to catch the koi swimming in the pools. Once again his thoughts drift to his own youth spent among these gardens and he smiles, lost in the reverie. While the music may look daunting on the page, it lies well under the hands and the figures are evenly divided between the hands.
