His father died peacefully in his sleep after many years as Emperor. He was beloved by his people and saw to the rebuilding of the land after previous reigns which were not as benevolent. His son paced in the palace, waiting to be summoned for the ceremony. It would be attended by all who chose to come and bear witness to his coronation. The music began and he started the long walk to the throne room, passing by the loyal staff of his father as they bowed to him. He could see in their eyes a dedication to his well-being and hoped that they saw the same determination in his eyes to ensure the continued happiness and security of all the people. The ceremony was fairly brief, ending with several showers of flower petals thrown by those in attendance to celebrate his ascendance to the throne.
