It's finally time to make some cast iron chips on the DIY Vice build! In this episode we start work on the main body casting Getting castings ready for machining them can be quite a task in itself. In this episode we cover rough prep of the castings, basic squaring up of the surfaces to be machined with some basic hand scraping and finally the process of machining the top and bottom surfaces. It wasn't all smooth sailing, getting to really learn the limits and quirks of my machine tools and making new tools to help me complete this project is what this is all about.
